In contrast to a tradition that is mostly concerned with getting a big grin on a well exposed negative, as a photographic artist, Mr. Chrobak is committed to creating images that go far beyond the external, to bring forth the intangible and timeless elements of his subjects. It is this human dimension that when revealed in a well orchestrated moment of light, color, composition and emotion, that can be universally identified and move those that recognize it. By putting these universally recognized facets of humanity on film, Mr. Chrobak seeks to draw the viewer into a personal relationship with the subject(s), through which they may not only glimpse something of the subjects but equally important of themselves.
Since most of what can be considered "artistic" must be created or found outside the camera and the portrait process requires much time discovering relevant personal themes, planning the portrait session, getting the family ready regarding colors, clothing and any props, scouting for supportive locations, meticulous lighting set-ups or an array of reactive strategies to work with the chosen scene and natural light, our fee structure must allow us to spend the time necessary to initially create at this level on the negative and to later produce the highest quality finished prints available. This is accomplished not only by using award winning master print makers but through negative retouching, custom printing, extensive print finishing techniques and artwork (when requested), on every print we create.

Digital and Traditional Artwork Services and  Billing Policies

Because portraits can many times be significantly improved by substituting heads or bodies from images where an expression or pose is deemed to be more desirable by the client or by slimming facial features, whole bodies or removing unwanted objects, we offer a complete range of the latest digital and traditional artwork services. Since we do not include a budget for such services in the price of each finished print, we only perform such digital or traditional artwork services as requested by the client and the cost of such services are final billed to the client along with shipping charges and any other balances owed on the order, via a credit card number and authorization given in advance for this purpose, at the time the order is placed. This policy not only allows us to keep our per print cost down, but alleviates the need to re-contact clients to establish a date when someone will be home all day wait for a UPS delivery. With pre-authorization for credit card billing for requested artwork and shipping costs, we can ship all finished orders as soon as they are completed, fully insured, in the most convenient way, to all our customers.
